In te ao Māori, aroha is the breath of life and inspires us to keep going and to keep giving. It seeks and draws out the best in people, rejects greed, aggression, and ignorance, and encourages actions that are generous, compassionate, and life-giving. It truly embodies the selfless act of Breastfeeding and all that comes with this unique journey.

At the heart of aroha is self-love — the first and most essential form of love. By honouring and nurturing ourselves, we create the foundation and greater capacity for a love that flows outward to whānau and the wider world.

Mama Aroha — A Mother’s love, compassion, and life force — symbolises nurturing, guidance, and the creative force behind creating life.

What others think?

“I think I used it religiously in the first few months, because it's got all the information that someone wants to know. And most of it's concise. And then, obviously, the diagrams and the pictures to assist. And it's got everything from baby to mum to

transitions to positions. Yeah, everything you need to know. It's like a one stop shop, which is awesome.”

Breastfeeding Mama-Ph App

“I love everything about it. I feel like when you have a new baby, you're so overwhelmed and it's hard to remember all the things. So it's really good to have the app to go back and like flick through and be like, “Oh yeah, I'm doing it right”. Or “I can change this but and it might help” or just having that information

available all in one spot. You don't have to like Google things.”

"The Talk Cards are exactly what they are...cards used to talk to mums, they're visual, easy to understand, I use them everyday, because I have had the greatest success with them. One of the keys to improving family health is to educate and empower the whole family and these talk cards give us that opportunity to help educate not only the mum but the whole whānau.
